WHY GO?  To connect with nature. Green fingered or not, you will get your horticultural fix by marvelling at the glorious artworks at the annual RHS Botanical Art and Photography show where artists from all over the world reveal the botanical paintings and photographs that have earned them prestigious RHS medals, and the profusion of flowers, fauna and fruits has never been more diverse.

From fine grasses drawn with meticulous precision to full flowering blooms that almost beg to be picked from their frames, the entries are as varied as the countries and continents of the artists themselves.

With an emphasis on the ecological importance of wildflowers, forests and endangered plants, this year’s show offers up more than a rarified collection of beautiful blooms to admire.

If you long to sow the seeds for your own collection of botanical artworks or feel the urge to pick up a paintbrush or camera yourself, this is a great show to inspire.

IN THE KNOW  A selection of the top winning artworks will be added to the legendary RHS Lindley Collections, an archive of over 30,000 botanical paintings dating back to the 1630’s and rare photographic images from as far back as 1860.
