WHY GO? To be dazzled.  Mirroring Soane’s eclectic love of ancient artefacts, this distinctive exhibition is embedded in and around the museum’s permanent collections, with artworks secreted into nooks and crannies creating a cornucopia of splendour.

Time synchronises as the contemporary work of Liberian-British artist Viktor complements Soane’s collections unearthed throughout his legendary Grand Tours, now housed in this quirky museum.

Viktor’s dramatic sculptures, paintings and photographs are a rich cultural mix, inspired by ancient Egypt, indigenous Australian art and the magnificence of medieval illuminations.

There’s so much to appreciate, not least of all, the exquisite craftsmanship which fires her mission to honour the artists before her.

Viktor’s gleaming gold sculptures, smooth ceramic urns, glossy wood panels and silk hangings pay homage to the museum’s treasures.

She hopes that artworks displayed within the museum’s dark underground labyrinths will empower visitors to pause, meditate and visualise those mythical times of yesteryear!
