BEST IN THE BUSINESS
We meet Caroline Hirons at the launch of her brand new, flagship counter at Liberty London.
Trained aesthetician, brand consultant, skin blogger and best-selling author, Caroline Hirons launched her flagship counter at Liberty London this month.
With over 100 million views on her videos and 139 million hits to her blog, JULIA EDITS caught up with the most influential woman in the beauty industry to discuss the latest editions to her Skin Rocks range and to find out more about her favourite beauty products.
What we love about Caroline is that she doesn’t do fads, or fleeting beauty trends and with over 27 years of beauty industry experience, she doesn’t promote unrealistic beauty ideals either. This no no-nonsense approach has helped her amass an army of loyal and trusted followers.
“If you don’t need it, don’t spend the money if your skin isn’t going to benefit from it.”
Caroline began working on the Aveda beauty counter in Harvey Nichols in 1997 and went on to become a brand consultant for some of the biggest names in the industry. In that time, she also had four children with her husband, Jim, before launching her blog in the early social media days.
Entirely self-funded, in 2022 she launched her Skin Rocks app and skincare line, both within the space of six months. The Skin Rocks Rich Cream is one of the best things we have EVER tried.

"Try my Skin Rocks Retinoid 1 and your skin will look brighter, smoother and more even.”
The idea behind her Skin Rocks app was to create a basic catalogue of products that would allow people to look something up and know immediately what was in it, whether it was suitable for their skin type — “you know, all the questions I get asked all the time”.
Deemed the ‘Google of Skincare’, having access to this free app is like having a mini-Caroline in your pocket helping your skin look and feel its best.

What was more difficult, raising four children or launching a new arm of the business in such a short time? “The children, the business isn’t hard, you just have to be good at handling stress and be ready to pivot quickly. Raising four children with not a lot of money was infinitely harder. I’ve never had a handout in my life, everything I’ve got I’ve worked for.
I might never be able to retire but that’s fine; I’ll just cross that bridge when I come to it.”
