CANARY WHARF

WINTER LIGHTS

Canary Wharf Winter Lights - The Clew by Ottotto, encircling Cubitt Bridge

WHAT? Canary Wharf Winter Lights

WHERE?  Throughout Canary Wharf, London E14. Free to view.

WHEN? From 21st January until 1st February, from 5-10pm daily.

WHY GO? To see the light and keep your festive spirit rolling on into the New Year.  The celebrated winter lights trailing throughout the gleaming towers of Canary Wharf provide a dazzling tonic to January blues.

This, the ninth festival, is as innovative as ever with illuminated art displays of tech wizardry.

From Cabot Square to Wood Wharf, eleven spectacular new installations will showcase artworks in neon, LED and state-of-the-art lighting.

Created by contemporary visual art designers including Portugal’s Ottotto and Kent’s much lauded Lucid Creates, who provide extraordinary temporary installations for projects with big brands like Adidas and big festivals like Glastonbury.

Cafés and bars will join in celebrating the festival of light, creating an atmosphere of communal bonhomie.  Some will be permanent, others temporary with every one promising a futuristic glimpse into surreal engineering art and tech talent.

The festival of light finale will be a 20m wide sink hole encircled by light, celebrating the recently opened Eden Dock in Canary Wharf.

Let there be light!

IN THE KNOW There’s an easy Festival of Light map to help navigate what’s on where, available free on the Canary Wharf app.
