LONDON CRAFT WEEK
WHAT? London Craft Week
WHERE? All over London, from Coal Drops Yard to Camberwell.
Most events are free, but check the programme for details
WHEN? 8-12th May
WHY GO? To discover and nurture beautiful things, crafted with care and watch craftspeople at work, often in nooks and crannies you would not normally get to see like The Fitzrovia Chapel where Sarah Myerscough curates Scorched, a cluster of artwork in charred wood.
London Craft Week is a great initiative, now in its fifth year and relishes the sustainability of craftsmanship. With over 240 participants, representing more than 15 countries, there are endless wonderful crafts to covet from ceramics, to stone carving, dress-making to perfume blending.
Celebrate an artisan at one of many pop ups, demos and lectures around town.
IN THE KNOW Fancy taking part but can't make a thing? If you’ve engaged, explored and been stimulated and are feeling benevolently crafty, you can always join in and become a volunteer next year.
Travel and refreshment expenses are reimbursed. It’s fun, educational and you never know, you might develop a skill along the way.
