charlie shares her expert tips on how to shop

It’s always good to have a style signature; I discovered mine relatively late and now Lady Danger is my go to lip colour for making me feel ready to take on the day or night!

Know what labels suit you and keep up to date with their weekly drops. I love to be comfortable and tend to wear loose, relaxed clothing. ME+EM is the only brand where I’ve thought I could wear every single piece… it feels like it has been designed just for me.

It’s all in the details - don’t feel pressured to buy into the trends, some seasons the trends are just not for me so I stick to what I already have, knowing that it works and update it with new accessories.

Yves Saint Laurent famously said “what is important in a dress, is the woman who is wearing it”. I completely agree and always have this in mind when I’m dressing actresses for the red carpet. You should wear the dress: don’t let it wear you!

Fashion does have a bad reputation when it comes to sustainability, so I’m pleased there are more labels out there which are putting ethics on the same level of importance as design. Mother of Pearl really plays into my love of playfulness and Arket shows you the factory in which each product is made.

I have a problem with Breton tops (I own too many) but they are my staple and are a classic, stylish basic that works for every woman.

I’ve been renovating my home for what seems like forever and have finally got to the “best stage” - buying furnishings. I’m obsessed with Anna Hayman, I mean look at this cushion - it’s divine!

IN THE KNOW

knees up night out

So you’ve been left to sort the big night out… they’re going to behave badly, but you haven’t seen them for ages, so it’s worth getting barred for. Big table, bustling atmosphere, bearable bill…

Here are five of my favourites.
