Miriam Tyrangiel

FOUNDER & DESIGNER - UNDERCOVER

With a background in brand strategy and design, a passion for interiors and eco-friendly materials, Miriam Tyrangiel founded Undercover - a range of distinctly modern, high quality bed linen with high environmental credentials.

Miriam, 30, grew up in Zurich, Switzerland and now lives with her husband in East London.  She knows how important it is to get a good night’s sleep and wanted to produce the softest, lightest and silkiest bed linen she could, blending the finest quality cotton with a revolutionary botanical yarn, Tencel™.

TENCEL™ is derived from FSC certified eucalyptus and other plant pulps. It holds the European Award for the Environment from the EU and is certified as biodegradable and compostable.  All of Undercover’s bedlinen comes from the medieval town, Guimarães, in Portugal, which is a region known globally for its expertise in home textiles.

This sustainable collection is inspired by her travels and her love of architecture, graphic design and photography.

MIRIAM shares her expert tips on how to shop

Look for sustainable materials. Just because something is made with "natural" fibres such as cotton, that doesn't make it eco-friendly. Alternative fabrics such as TENCEL™ Lyocell and EcoVero™ have much better environmental footprints.

Good style often feels right at first sight. When you wear something that suits you, you often feel good in it straight-away, intuitively. It's the same with interiors.

Less is more. I'm thinking about purchases more carefully now so that I buy things that I'll still love years down the line. Homes can look "overdecorated" quickly, go for fewer, better pieces.

Get inspired; see how other brands and bloggers have styled something. There's no shame in building a Pinterest board!

Opt for versatility. Our duvet covers are two-sided, that way you can change the whole style of your bedroom with the flip of a cover.
