WHAT? Swinging London: A Lifestyle Revolution | Terence Conran - Mary Quant
WHERE? Fashion and Textile Museum, Bermondsey, London SE1 3XF
WHEN? 8th Feb - 2nd June
WHY GO? To explore just why London was, and still is, the coolest capital. The exhibition spans from 1952 to 1977 zoning in on the Chelsea Set and the phenomenon that was the ‘Swinging Sixties’. The 60’s are just as relevant style wise today and it’s good to remind ourselves just how influential Terence Conran and Mary Quant were to challenge established ideas. From PVC raincoats to early Habitat wicker chairs, it will be a blast!
IN THE KNOW A major solo Mary Quant retrospective is coming to the V&A in April.
A national call-out by the V&A in June to source original Quant clothing received over 800 responses, long live the Sixties !
