WHY GO? To marvel at ballet superstar Sergei Polunin and Johan Kobborg in an exciting mixed programme and be the first to catch the word premiere of Rasputin, a new ballet by dancer/choreographer Yuki Oishi.  What a genius billing, the bad boy of ballet performing as the bad man of Russian history, beauty and the beast! Rasputin, a two-act ballet, promises to deliver drama and excitement to a thrilling musical score from hot Russian neoclassical composer Kirill Richter, the name behind the haunting title music for the 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russia.

IN THE KNOW  Not only is he today’s most famous Russian ballet dancer, Sergei is also a talented actor. He starred in Kenneth Branagh’s Murder On The Orient Express, more recently in Red Sparrow and is currently in Ralph Fiennes The White Crow based on Nureyev’s defection to the West.  And naturally, he has been likened to Nureyev in fiery temperament.  Check out Dancer the documentary about his rise to fame for a full ballet fest.
