WHY GO? Has your fascination with Game of Thrones given you a head for helmets? There was no greater British sculptor than Henry Moore and he has created some of the finest sculptural interpretations. This is a rare chance to marvel at his celebrated bronze Helmet Heads all together for the first time and in one of central London’s most revered galleries.
Together with his studies for the sculptures, it explores his love of armoury so evident in his bold iconic style .
IN THE KNOW? The celebrated Wallace Collection Armoury is every school boy’s dream. It obviously worked its magic on a young Henry Moore who spent hours there in the 30s and 40s producing inspirational sketches for future abstract sculptures, which permeated through all his subsequent work.
However… if you want a little lighter relief while at The Wallace, savour the joyful delights of Fragonard’s painting The Swing. It never fails to lift the spirits along with a posh cuppa in the gorgeous courtyard cafe!
