WHY GO? He dressed them all, the jet-set, the movie stars, the politicians’ wives. Halston started as a milliner in the Fifties and made the famous pillbox hat for Jackie Kennedy worn at the presidential inauguration which helped launch his fame. He opened his own salon in 1968, the same year as Studio 54 and from then on, the two names would forever be linked. Researching his life with actress/writer Tavi Gevinson playing archivist, the documentary uncovers rare footage and intimate interviews with family and friends.
